meh would be a good thing

J and D stayed home. They were in the way of DJ's routine, but who are we to complain if we aren't sick while they are?
Made for an annoying day, but the magicJack saga has hit the point of my being belligerent. Wasted another couple hours on chat with magicJack and calling Cincy Bell. Talk about perfect storm of ineptitude. MagicJack toook too long to port number so it wasn't available from Cincinnati Bell due to deactivation. The latter doesn't prorate so I submitted port 10 days before CB invoice period ended. MJ failed to port after I submitted it four times. Spoke with chatbot each time for an hour only to be told to talk to CB for another hour... failure to communicate is the MO of both communications companies I can firmly attest. I just wanna Yelp! A blue streak to convey my displeasure.

Longest day

I was up until x and got up 4 hours later, so today was a rare twenty hour day. No iheartradio, nor anything radio to be heard, was listened by me. I had a warm feeling in my chest that may have been heartburn, but it felt nice like my belove discontinued Fritos steakburger made me feel upon completion. Wonderful day, it was. I almost forgot myself. I ate fruit, bananas, at least. Panicked at 2:22 when I forgot I had eaten the first and was dizzy. Got things to type but headaches good night.

weekend preview

Feeling tired. I may not dmt this post since I didn't nap before work. We went out for Dixie Dairy Dreem rather than dinner at home, so things were skewed along with the fact I slept until noon after I got off phone at 5:40 DTM. Maybe I need to sleep six or less hours to merit a nap, but my mind wanted one as I drove to work. Meh, it's my weekend now.
I think I know what's for dinner and I know Mr. Selfridge is scheduled, but the rest of Monday depends on how the stars align. Tuesday only has Agents of SHIELD as a definite maybe. All depends on how the stars align... I would hope to get up and about before the kindergarten bus motors through but I have to be on the ball at 6 DMT to consider that. Well I have coffee made in the Aladdin so I may have a go if the alignment of balls of gas in distant places dictate as much. I just don't want to be sucked into place that makes feel me like a bad parent when time comes unstuck.

new pants.

Woke up to chaos around 10:30(7:30 Dylanmentaltime), as J was out doing things that K, B, & D could tag along. I am blurry as to what else occurred until 11dmt, but I think I ate and changed my socks before we left for bib shopping. D needs bibs since she's collar is soaked a lot of late. Went to BCF, I wandered into Officemax to see how the new digs were. Not sure how the latter stays in business, more people work there than shop and the people working seem mean to the elderly who aren't sure of the printer they have recently purchased.
Anyways, I headed to Burlington when I assessed that nothing looked suitable to replace Hal II. Upon heading towards infants, a customer called towards me for help as though I worked there. I was in a tshirt and jeans... my untucked shirt should have been a giveaway I didn't work there, but I guess I carry myself like I work retail since I get asked for help more times than I should.
Reminds me of the times I worked places and people would as if I worked there while I'm behind my office desk caressing a hot beverage. I should get a shirt from ON that says "I just work here." Or the "meh" one would be my sort of noncoollicensed shirts that  Old Navy sells.
Short story made long recondensed for brevity, I got new pants. I even wore them to work, where I wear a tshirt and jeans, but no customers exist. Still weird I have be clean shaving, but powers that be have to be around to notice.
I did other stuff, but I got to nap from 7 until 8 and it was good. I like naps. I should take one now.

return of Mehnday

I still love Mondays, but I had a rough go at getting started. Having three kids will do that, I suppose. Just got a bit of kinks in my back and such that will work themselves out after coffee and such.

The Apple 5S commercial has turned me against Pixies Gigantic in a degree, but for unrelated reasons I now think of bigamy. Between "Big, Big love" and "Hey Paul, Hey Paul," I get Big Love and Poly on the brain.

I still like the song, unlike Cash's Ring of Fire that conjures unpleasant thoughts of STDS between the title and the "and it burns, burns, burns."

Seriously, feel like I have pain from doing something athletic. I know its work related and that it will go away once I adjust to the grind. Weird thing is that I awake hungry when I eat before bed. I probably burn enough calories to maybe eat twice the caloric intake a person who sits at a desk should indulge during the day.

I need to eat better in addition to eating more.  Should start running and doing "exercise," to assist in deterring the aches and pains. Not that I'll ever see anyone from my hometown anytime soon, but it would be nice to make myself unrecognizable in a healthy, manly sort of way.

pain and other odd things

Something about getting six or more hours of rest seems to be the difference between today and yesterday. Sure my hands hurt and typing isn't smooth, but I don't have the burning between my shoulder blades, nor the void autopilot feeling in my head.

Having friends is a struggle for me. Being a social misfit/ social retard has amplified my idiosyncrasies into quirkiness that I am mostly oblivious. K has a lot of my traits, hence he's in Cub Scouts.

Scouting has been good for my interactions as well. Odd thing happened at the Pack Meeting last night in that a dad I speak to most often commented a) I was tan and b) I am "cut"

Felt awkward.

See, I don't get out much and I don't work out what-so-ever, hence the above is odd. Only explanation: a) On Sunday, I dug up and planted arborvitae while it was warm and sunny. b) I have a physically demanding job and I usually have layers on since we don't meet much during late spring and summer.

Though I seem to have a lot of free time, I don't allot it well to be doing fun stuff with the kids. It's been a long winter, hopefully I get into a better frame of mind and seize more days than let pass by, as the weather gets better and such.

time slow down

Not sure why, but I must be using my time more efficiently tonight for I feel like it should be later. I only mention this mirage for I've noticed it taking me forever to accomplish certain tasks in the previous few days. Not saying I'm turning Billy Pilgrim or anything, more aware of the passage of time.

Oddly, I awoke at 1:30 and could have sworn it was no later than 11. I blame sleeping in a bed for my unconscious lapse of  good awake time judgment.

Wait a moment, I think I lost sometime somewhere between the last few sentences...

up all night

Normally, I go to bed around 3am. Today I had been effectively up since 3am until 9am. Breastfed babies eat frequently, so someone has to be up every couple hours or so to feed said babies.

I think that J and I have devised that we share the burden of being on-call, but it's not an equal billing. I didn't get cut open and have regular pain/soreness, and I cannot actually feed D until J starts to pump in the seemingly distant future. What I can do is make sure D actually wants to eat when she awakes, and that J can rest when she's not needed to feed D.

When B woke up after K got on the bus, she wanted to see the baby and/or mom who were both sleeping. B decided to go back to bed, which prompted me to do the same. I got up again in time to get B ready for her bus.

Routine. No such thing exists when you have a newborn. Regardless, I am heading into work tomorrow night.

Surreal Sunday

Been sleeping in a bed for the first time in a year or so. D has been in the pack and play in the main bedroom, so I am triage for her noise making. I can sleep with lights on, and lights are needed on to ensure what exactly is causing D to be awake. She has the tendency to eat every two to four hours and fill her Pampers between feedings. I can't feed her, yet, but i can make sure her bottom is wet or not.

We bought Pampers back when K was a baby, but we were solely Luvs when B was a baby. Luvs are way cheaper, so the fact we bought Pampers back in the day puzzles me aside from perhaps they weren't much more expensive ten years ago. As far as I can tell, Luvs doesn't have a New Born size that will adequately protect D, so Pampers is a logical though expensive choice.

So two nights home after three nights in the hospital makes today feel like a new normal. I was not looking forward to certain elements, but I can't say for sure why I felt reservations now that the now has come.

Since J will be home an extended period of time, we have joined Amazon Prime. Compared to Netflix, we're very disappointed, so we'll probably not go beyond the free trial period. There's too many inconvenient elements when comparing the two Roku 3 channels, that we feel more comfortable with Netflix.

True, "free" two-day shipping from Amazon is nice, but the price difference isn't there when you consider variables like coupons and weekly store sales. Obviously, I could be mistaken, but being married to a like minded person gives me confidence when my reasoning concurred.

Mild Saturday

K and B are switching rooms. B and #3 will share a room so they need the bigger room. In a perfect world we'd have another room so that no one shared, but I am less than perfect thus my imperfections trickle down.
B's room was purple, so it was painted blue today. J's mother is good at painting rooms so she was over and the two of them had mother/daughter bonding.
J made sure I was up at 11am. She wanted me to tape the places she couldn't reach. Unfortunately, mother-inlaw does better without the tape, but fortunately I had only tapes a 4th of the ceiling border, which she promptly pealed away upon arrival.
Around 12:30, J reminded me about a Lego event at Toys R Us. The kids were willing to go, so we went while they painted. The Joker Bot was free, but it's had to visit Toys R Us with K and B without them wanting to buy something. They got Halloween money from my folks, so I was mildly open to perusing.
They settled on a mini fig. $3.19 is steep in my book but it's their money. I told they they'd each owe me three bucks, yet they thanked me. They both gave me their money when we got home without a fuss.
I can safely say that never happened when I was a kid. I always had money, or my folks bought stuff with money they owed me. Not sure why but they always owed me money. They never paid me back with the cash they borrowed. I'd get a radio, a bat, or sled that they thought I should have.
Sorry, just thinking about my folks reminds me of why I have kids. I'm going to be a better parent out of spite. My kids are PRIORITY NUMBER ONE. Not sure where my brother and I were on my folks' priorities list, but I feel like I give my pet fish more attention.

another nap

Just got up from a nap. Spent much of the morning cleaning out my inbox. I've several email accounts, but I forward most of it to one that I can't always access due to GMAIL not liking other GMAIL accounts associated with a certain tablet every so often. I had several months of email to delete or move which was somewhere between 1500 and 2k with over 800 being "unopen."

After J left, I read B a couple Pinkalicious easy readers before her bus came. She gets a marble for every two books read to her and a marble for doing other learning efforts. When she collects 10 marbles she can trade for a sheet of stickers. If she hoards 50 or so marbles she can trade for a figure/doll. She hasn't gotten passed 10 without going for stickers, yet.

After I got in from getting B on the bus, I continues to clean out the email until either Gmail or my Windows XP desktop decided to freeze up Mozilla on me. I tried to close FireFox and run defrag, but nothing happened. I went to K's room and used his Asus laptop and Windows 7 didn't have any issues getting down to the very end of my inbox. Just as I finished, my mobile rang. Work was calling. Seemed they wouldn't need me on Wednesday due to construction but I could make my hours up tonight.

Since J works late, I get Monday and Tuesday off. I can go in later than normal so I was fine with going in, I just needed a nap.

I napped from 2 until around 3:30. While I started this post, I got another call from work nixing the arrangement. Seems the circumstances changed where I could work tomorrow as normal since the construction was moved to tonight.

I may not care for my job in that it leaves a lot to be desired, but at least they care enough about me to let me get my hours in.

Now I have a headache as I away K and B's bus. Not sure what we'll do, but I plan to get them out as its to rain tonight and tomorrow.

Monday- a day to ponder weekend events

*When I got work on Saturday, the shift manager told me that our assistant manager had given his two weeks. I was shocked. Sure, the guy was a horrible person in that he treated people poorly and couldn't fix anything, but he was the sort of guy that seemed to have plans to move up.
Since I started in January, ALL of my four supervisors have resigned. This latest dude was the one I'd have figured to have left first until the other three left allowing him to move up the pecking order.

Weirdest thing is that it's rumored that he doesn't have another job lined up.

*Saturday was a long day. It started earlier than normal with my be up and on the go with K to the camping grounds. I'm glad we didn't spend the night. Their breakfast was burnt and they only had instant coffee.

After being there 6 hours, I was bored and tired. K was wanting to leave before we arrived so just putting forth the effort was something to be considered positive.

*I think I napped when I got back from Cub Scouts, but I don't remember.

*B spent the night with her grandparents since J was at work and I didn't feel B would be fun to bring camping.

I really missed B. Thankfully she came back before I left for work.

*Sunday, I slept until noon and got moving around 12:30. didn't feel up to doing anything but I forced myself to mow the grass and to get some necessities from Kroger.

J baked an apple pie. I love her. Pie is something that reminds me of how lucky I am, but I count my blessings regularly.

*I did other things, but I don't recall. I do know that I didn't watch any football or baseball.

a forced nap

K has a Cub Scouts event tomorrow so I shall have to be up early and stay up a while. When I do such, I am running on 4 hours of sleep. I can do it fine, but not two days in a row. So I took a nap this afternoon though I was fine on my 4 hours of night sleep. I slept three hours from 3 until 6, so I shall probably sleep here shortly from 3 until 7 and be up until 3 tomorrow without a nap. Thankfully, I get to sleep in on sundays.

Sleep quest, Day 2

Okay, I should have went to bed sooner than 3, but it's when I got to it. Set my alarm for 7:30am, and still felt lousy. I need more than 4.5 hours of sleep. Of course shooting to go to bed sooner doesn't seem to be a big deal with not needing to get up for K and his school bus.

In search of the perfect sleep amount

I get home around 1:30am, and I feel like sleeping maybe around 3am. Woke up at 7am today since K went back to school. I felt lousy and the rest of the day blurred until K arrived home around 4pm.

I need to figure out a way to get sleep without it interfering with my obligations. I need more than 4 hours.

Monday, June 3, 2013

It's eleven, and I've been up since 7:30.

Considering yesterday I got up around noon and went to bed around 3 makes, my staying up after ensuring K started his day well, seem off par.
I have a mild sense of wear, but on the whole I feel alert and well for having about 4 hours of sleep.
It's my day off, I might as well enjoy it full tilt.
Hopefully, I'm on the verge of breaking my rut. Been reading The Plateau Effect. It's gotten away from calculus, but it's still interesting nonetheless. It would probably be better as a cd.

Headache, first day of June

I went to bed just after 2:30. I was tired. I don't usually feel tired when I go to bed. I usually get a second wind and go to bed when I feel guilty for being up too late.
My dad called before 9 to tell me about things on tv tonight while I'm at work. It disrupted my sleep, but I went back to sleep and didn't get up until noon.
Everyone was gone from the house and off to swimming.
I feel guilty. I had planned to go. I got a couple books to read while there, so it's not like I didn't want to go.
I've a headache. I was actually thinking of reading last night, but I was tired, headache sort of tired.
The day is half wasted, but there's plenty of time to get things done..

Monday, February 11, 2013

Monday, another slow start.

I got home around midnight and went to bed around one, so I had ample sleep by the time K got up at seven that I should have been able to stay up past his bus picking him up, but I didn't.
J and B were up, and I  promptly went back to sleep until well after ten. Don't quite feel right (Not feeling blah, but more of a meh). Have mild body aches and a mild headache, but those could be from too much sleep or body wanting to relax on my day off.
Seriously, it's been a long time since I did "work" five days straight.
Of course I'm not putting in whole days, but rather concentrated shifts which feel like a running a 20 k race when all is said and done. (I got blisters on my toes to prove it.)
Just dropped of B, so I gotta get my day kick started towards "progress and achievement."

Reflecting upon the final day of January

Where is time going? I must be doing something right for I'm feeling more accomplished than I did at the start of the year.
Resolutions aren't set in stone, but they are being met.
"Seize the day" has yet to become a daily thing, but I've moments that are better than others.
Today started blah, but ended well. As soon as I string some days together, then I feel the chance to be more capable of being happy without reason.beyond the knowledge that my family is well.
My dad may never be well, but I suppose some of that is mental. Sure he's in pain, but once pain becomes the norm, then don't you get used to it? Maybe I'm reading Dale Carnegie too closely? I'm currently in pain from having "worked" for the first time in a long time doing a motion that's tightened my shoulders and back, but it's a good pain of a day well done. To a certain extent I think my dad wants pity, and to another extent, I think he's stuck in his thinking that he can get better. He needs to appreciate the things he has, but he's got jacked up priorities.
As I was saying earlier, I started the day a little blah. I got up and got K ready for school and took out the trash, but once he left B awoke and was upset that J and K were gone. I felt tired and I got her to go back to sleep. Definitely not a "seize the day" sort of thing, but I was in a funk until I drove B to preschool.
After dropping her off, I went to K-Mart to buy some shirts to wear to work. I'll be working with chemicals, so I wanted some long sleeves to protect my arms. Buying long sleeved shirts in January isn't easy, but I found a few on clearance.
I also looked around for a floor lamp to replace one we got as a wedding gift that died recently. Floor lamps aren't easy to find, and K-Mart doesn't seem to carry them. If they do, then they aren't anywhere near table lamps or light bulbs.
With my mission only half complete, I suffered through the longest three person deep check-out line.
K-Mart has WAY TOO MANY FREAKING PROMPTS when you buy stuff.
When I got home, I washed my new shirts and did things around the house until I had to pick up B.
We were meeting J in an hour so I could drop off a car to have its odd ball problems fixed. I told B to keep her shoes on when we got home, but she didn't. She decided to barricade the front door to lock out K when he got off his bus. After a few moments of failure, K came in through the carhole. He listened to me about getting ready, and even helped B get her socks and shoes on.
I didn't want to get at the mechanic too early. It was way too cold to be waiting with kids, so I timed myself to get there at 5. People were driving SLOW, and J called me that she arrived when I was a BLOCK away.
So, the plan was met, and we proceeded to the next agreed upon step of going to Steak'n Shake. We got free teas and sodas, as our normal waitress was serving us and it wasn't happy hour, nor kids eat free weekend. It's a nice perk of being a regular.
We got shakes before leaving for home. Once home, I got ready for work/training. I left early because it started to snow and people don't know how to drive in snow (even Ohio, mind you!). Sure enough, I was forced to drive well below the speed limit.I got there about ten minutes early.
Work was slow, so I had a chance to get training without chaos going on. I did a lot of watching, but I did a lot doing. I should be able to do my job in an hour and a half alone, but tonight I did half the work in 2 hour plus hours as I learned the process.
As I said, the day was a mixed bag in terms of productive seizing of the day, but it's a step in the right direction.

Having a blah day

Not saying I am bored or anything, but I've been feeling less than motivated of late. Could be I'm neglecting to take my vitamins regularly, or my thyroid is not happy with me. Who knows?

Dogs days of June, I guess. Baseball season has been filled with ups and downs, and I'm a junky. I can't give it up. I can give up Camels and Bass, but following well compensated athletes, I can't.

Something wrong with following sports when there's much more that is actually important to be accomplished.

I guess that all commercials placed during sporting events are dead giveaways as frivolous wastes of personal income for anyone watching such things knows how to waste time and money to be "entertained" without giving a second thought.

I gave up tv in that I feel no desire to watch things that eventually are available on DVD.

Just have to figure out how to stop being consumed by the radio and internet time bandit. If I sleep through such things, they will still happen without my needing to know about them when they occur. Infovegan concepts transferred towards productive activities that have gainful results beyond the lull of blah when the fix of following a winner doesn't manifest itself in real time and sputters in a numbness of frustration. If only I could program myself like a robot.
