rude

Whenever I wake up to a phone call I find myself off the phone quickly. Probably because I am in a rude mood, but I guess there's other factors. It's rare for anyone to call me
Generally, calling after ten is safe but I take naps all the time. Anyways, I'm in the wrong if I'm rude after 10am unless it's a telemarketer.

family matters

I really have little interest in the lives of people outside of my household. I can say this because I have no urge to call people, text people, email people, or talk for more than a few minutes.

I spoke to my brother today for 26 minutes. I don't recall the last time that ever happened. I have nothing in common with him besides relatives and other DNA stuff. He has three jobs and rides his bike in races. I have three kids and teach my kids how to ride their bikes.

Birth weight surpassed on 6th day

Took D to pediatrician for first visit, and she was already weighing more than her birth weight. She's still tiny compared to K and B at 6 days, but she seems to be determined to catch up.

It was mostly uneventful today. Kids went to school without incident. D ate, pooped, wet, slept and invariably repeated the sequence throughout the day without incident.

Was cloudy and started to rain before the afternoon bus arrived. Kids were happy to be home. K is grounded from his computer for a few days for reasons I don't recall, so he was in the living room much of the time.

Both wanted hamburgers for dinner, and J agreed to the extent that it will be much cooler the rest of the week. So I grilled burgers in the rain.

D slept from the time we left the doctor's at 3 until well after eating dinner which was around 6:30. She got a bath tonight since she was a little greasy.

Got a call on my mobile this evening from a phone number I didn't recognize. Rather than ignoring it and googling 705-876-5326, I answered and spoke with "Barb" from GM Financial. She was trying to reach a former co-worker of mine whom I last spoke back in October, ironically after I had texted her that PM Financial was trying to reach her and that they had me listed as a reference for her. Both times they gave me the same number to forward her direction, 877-994-9119, though I didn't speak with Barb last time.

Maybe I need new friends, for Larry Winget said in a book that the people you consider friends influence your financial outlook. Having bill collectors calling is a bummer.

Garmin 1350T, pt II

Same reply to my email regarding warranty drove me to calling their 800 number. Was on hold a while before speaking with Sun. He was nice. He verified  my part existed and put an order for a new one. We will get it in 7-10 days after they receive our defective cord. They sent us a a UPS label via email, so we shall see...

Headache, first day of June

I went to bed just after 2:30. I was tired. I don't usually feel tired when I go to bed. I usually get a second wind and go to bed when I feel guilty for being up too late.
My dad called before 9 to tell me about things on tv tonight while I'm at work. It disrupted my sleep, but I went back to sleep and didn't get up until noon.
Everyone was gone from the house and off to swimming.
I feel guilty. I had planned to go. I got a couple books to read while there, so it's not like I didn't want to go.
I've a headache. I was actually thinking of reading last night, but I was tired, headache sort of tired.
The day is half wasted, but there's plenty of time to get things done..

Oddly, I don't recall much of my drive home

One thing nice about driving at 1am is the lack of traffic.

I got a text message from a friend while I was at work asking if I was still up. I texted back her an hour later when I locking up and she texted back, asking if I could call on my way home.

I spoke with her the whole way home and I think her phone died at 2am while I was telling her I need to eat and shower. I would have eaten while on the phone, but it's hard talking with a burrito.

Anyways, I was thinking of texting my friend earlier in the week because I hadn't heard from her since her birthday in early March. Her daughter has had some medical things going on, and I have kooky work hours, so I hadn't gotten to it. Her daughter had surgery this past week and is home. I got hear about the blood and guts of her procedure, and I am glad I was driving because there's a reason I didn't pursue a career in medicine.

My friend did a lot of talking during the drive, but she's a good conversationalist in that she asked about me. Didn't seem like an hour went by, but it did. She probably went to bed afterward, while I was still decompressing from my fun night at work.

Talking with my friend reenforces my belief that I am very lucky to have the wonderful family that I have.

Hands are numb. Four days down, one more to go until I'm able to recover for a couple days. Hopefully I am productive around the house, I've been sluggish thus a non-existent husband and father, I'm afraid.
