misc, not enough time for details

Ray Rice should be left alone. It's a private matter that he knocked out his baby momma as long as it's squared with law enforcement. He said she was drunk and passed out originally, but video showed him punch her after her hitting and spitting his direction. The latter does excuse the abuse, does it? Dudes don't hit dudettes... regardless that women can fight in combat, right? If Rice was beating a gay lover would there be the same media hoopla? I suppose the girl hitter may not play football for money again, but he could still run for public office and be a senator or POTUS one day.
Supposedly, there are more men sexually assaulted annually in our country than women. Only country in world with distinction despite officials stating homosexual population being a small minority of overall population. Yes, they can do combat, too, but think about the prison situation.
Finally got my phone number ported to magicJack from Cincy Bell. The latter canceled my internet service though I had spent ten hours on the phone establishing that I was keeping it. Both companies suck, Cincy Bell is quite proud of sucking because it shows frugality.
In addition to the telephone headache, I'm gonna see my hand surgeon about my carpal tunnel.
Was thinking today that maybe the Twin Towers weren't aesthetic and the terror element was a smoke screen as to why they were taken from the NYC skyline. Gonna be wrinkle in my shelved novel... I think.

mild contemplations

Surgery, thought of it gives me pause. I don't want take off work to do it. I went to work when I woke up 99.7% certain I would call off Wednesday. Felt lousy but it was tolerable since I could take my time and no one was around to see me scurry to the restroom every ten to twenty minutes. Woke up Thursday feeling wonderful, aside from a pimple in my nose making it feel puffy. If a pimple is my big annoyance of the day after feeling like... then I'll take it. Weird to feel not hateful on a Thursday morning... I had four hours of sleep as opposed to three, makes a bit of a difference.
AW, phone rang this morning a few times, so yes, we're back with Cincy Bell with OUR number that magicJack FAILED to port timely. The first call was Improvit wanted business since we were fool enough to have them do our bathroom last August. second call was my hand surgeon's office calling about the referral for my CTS, scheduler made mid-Sept seem distant in the future. Love that office! Third call was my brother. I'm not looking forward to seeing him next week, but the stars aligned that I can venture with family eastward and such while he's in this great state of ours. Yes... art shindig in Cowtown ruins MY weekend, but I'm not gonna do the art, I'll Journey to see my mom since she guilted me with unsolicited check with note saying she hadn't seen kiddos in a while. My brother will head there after a lecture at CCAD by his bud Pagel. I say such about being tight in jest but they probably do ride bikes together. AW the call with my brother drew question as to where my dad will be, he made it sound like he was going to a HOME. Hadn't reached my mom in days so THAT wasn't expected news.
Oh, I see a different surgeon next week, so I shall see if that'll be worthwhile.

meh would be a good thing

J and D stayed home. They were in the way of DJ's routine, but who are we to complain if we aren't sick while they are?
Made for an annoying day, but the magicJack saga has hit the point of my being belligerent. Wasted another couple hours on chat with magicJack and calling Cincy Bell. Talk about perfect storm of ineptitude. MagicJack toook too long to port number so it wasn't available from Cincinnati Bell due to deactivation. The latter doesn't prorate so I submitted port 10 days before CB invoice period ended. MJ failed to port after I submitted it four times. Spoke with chatbot each time for an hour only to be told to talk to CB for another hour... failure to communicate is the MO of both communications companies I can firmly attest. I just wanna Yelp! A blue streak to convey my displeasure.

Reality and scenarios

Not sure where I left off, but our noisy Whirlpool dishwasher that was leaking too is worst case scenario in that I flipped it over today and found it needs at least $130 in parts. Paid three hundred for the machine six years ago, and a rack is rusting and buttons were already falling off. Not sure worthwhile to bother fixing it.
I will not buy another whirlpool product again is my current sentiment. Felt that way about our Samsung washing machine when it died after three months, but it was under warranty and was fix at no cost to us though it was a major pain in the whatnot.
D was stuffy during week and was tugging at her ear today while K was at urgent care for his diarrhea and vomiting.
J was moody. Could have been worse if I didn't get her flowers yesterday, I guess. Sick kids will stress the best of us...
MagicJack has yet to port my number from Cincinnati Bell; not sure who sucks more customer service wise but MagicJack only uses chat bots, and they aren't bright enough to read your complaints to offer suggestions.

magicJack

Remember the $115 question? Well, I took the plunge and ordered magicJack via Amazon to use $60 of the giftcard. Also bought a new coffee maker since my current one seems to take forever to make a pot. They both arrived via UPS around 1pm, but I was feeding D. I got around to magicJack around 2pm, I'm porting my current number so I had a fear that those idiots at Cincy Bell would cancel my internet along with my home phone once they got the request, so I called the idiots. I'm insulting idiots, but this is a clean blog that needs not to be vulgar.
Frankly, I am proud of myself for not utilizing profanities during my hour plus on the phone with Cincinnati Bell. While I was on hold, I tweeted them and replied to an email regarding my displeasure with the lack of customer service reps able to grasp the English language.
I had massive headache. Wonder where time goes for I go from breakfast table and to my day and forget time passes. It slowed while I was on hold.
Hmmm... B's dream hasn't transpired.
No idea when I'll get around to my new Mr. Coffee. Just know today is not the day.

sometimes a conversation is better.

HAL jr has been of line a month. Where does time go? Waiting for D to finish feeding before attempting sleep. J was on couch, so I knew D was due a feeding.  Soon after I arrived home.
Was totally surprised to get a few text messages today from someone other than J, made me wonder if the world was okay. Hmmm... humors me when people think I'm bored or grumpy, for I never get asked either when I am but quite the opposite.
I wander about when I am bored and not confined to home for obvious reasons.
Anyways, I like texting more than Facebook. I clean walls for a living, why would I write on one?
I saw Kurt Vonnegut speak once. I remember it quite well, it was disappointing. Man was frail and such and talked nonsense to most people that weren't Vonnegut nuts. She who won't be named sat to my right. I remember going to get her from her apartment and the walk to the Hillel. I think she spoke to people she knew along the way more than she did during our evening together. Hmmm... why did I ask if she  wanted to go? I had 4 tickets that I got free by asking the powers that be for them. I gave 2 to my then best friend who didn't go because it was his 21st and though he liked KV, preferred getting messed up. He gave the tickets to Jason Decker and Ms. Mavis. I liked them, so the tickets found a good home, perhaps better than the other two did.
I think that was the last time we hung together, but I could be wrong. Sometimes the end is unexpected and forgettable, thus only memorable things get credit for being such. Maybe in 10 years we'll run into each other while we're out with our adult sons at that same age as us at the Hillel. It doesn't matter, she was there for me at a rough time and I can say that life is a vague memory now, thankfully.
D finished during the above muttering, and along with my being tired I've lost my theme focus. Oh, I know, texting is great but a call at home is better.

End of XP support

Well, the day has come that I will cease to use a certain machine for blogging. Not sure what will replace it, but a tablet will probably be what it will be given my annoyance with MICROSOFT. Seeing that my internet has been slow and Cincinnati Bell has been no help, I am looking into new connectivity options as well.

Just as I'm in a good place with my contact with the outside world, I'm being forced to be reclusive at my peak times of social productivity. Meh. Guess it must be a sign that I should be prioritizing other matters, like my beautiful 3 month old daughter.

Maybe I need to start being more physically active and eating better until I have the means to fully embrace mindless elements of my various interests?

Mostly uneventful Tuesday.

As I mentioned previously, I was annoyed with Cincinnati Bell this afternoon. I cannot reiterate how much they annoy me, but I'm sure they will find ways to further frustrate me, but life goes on regardless.
J and I took D out with us on some errands. We got Pizza!Pizza! before the older kids got home.
Figured getting Little Caesar's today was good idea since K had a school musical tonight.
My inlaws came with us to the school, so we had 7 people loaded into the Journey. I was suspect of our bringing D along since she is 11 weeks old, but she was very well behaved.

We got there an hour early for choice seating and we got to mingle with paents from K's scout den. Overheard a discussion regarding the pinewood derby that made K's not placing okay with my father inlaw.

The musical only lasted 30 minutes or so, which seemed to make the decision not to tell my folks about the event a wise one.

The inlaws stayed a little at the house and a good time was had by all.

... events that lead to no early nap, a continuation regarding Monday.

So I come back from the dentist a little tired, but alert enough to now going back to sleep when J, B, and D were up wasn't a grand idea. J had been talking about a Target coupon in the Sunday paper that gave the user a $20 giftcard when purchasing over $100 of baby care items. In the same Target circular, there was a promotion of a $5 giftcard when purchasing 2 big packs of Target Up & Up diapers that sold for $16.99 each.

We bought 6 boxes (4 size 1 - 112 ct, and 2 size 2 - 96 ct), so for $101.94, we got 640 diapers and $35 in gift cards to average $.104 a diaper!

While at Target we saw some clearance items. We bought a slider pan that was marked down to $15 and made tasty mini burgers for dinner. B loved the burger so much she had two, which made me feel good considering she got off the bus saying, "PIZZA PIZZA!!" referencing that Little Caesars was waiting for them the previous Monday when they got off the bus.

Another item that occurred during the day was my actual seeing my bill from Cincy Bell. In addition to the bogus $1.99 equipment charge for using my modem to access "zoomtown," my base wireless plan went up a couple bucks. When I was looking at the items on the bill, I noticed my "bundle" discount wasn't listed. I haven't received a hardcopy bill in so long that I hadn't noticed it missing. I just stopped scanning the bill when I came across the abnormality of one of the three services increasing by $2. The details are in the collapsible +/- fields so I never made it down to the +/- that housed my bundle discount credit.

I contacted CB about whether my services were bundled or not (Logically speaking, I'm owed $ if they are, or I can drop stuff without penalty if I'm not, right?) The response I got today was incomprehensible. Whoever responded to my inquiry must not have strong reading skills because nothing I asked was remotely answered while lies about CB sending notification about their service changes were regurgitated. They sent a notice today that I ordered something when I didn't! I have no idea what they claim I ordered, but it was confirmed later today. So I am very frustrated with Cincinnati Bell. I sent a reply stating such and that they either answer my question or give me the direct number of someone who speaks English as his/her primary language.

Cincinnati Bell lies

Supposedly you can logon 24/7 to see your bill from Cincinnati Bell, but I just tried without success.
I wanted to see why my bill went up a few bucks from last month's bill that was up a few bucks from previous bills. I have been with Cincy Bell a long time due to their being the only company back in the day to offer reasonable no contract wireless plans. I eventually switched the homephone and the dial up internet when I realized SBC Ameritech didn't give me the same basic features as Cincy Bell, while Fuse dial up was cheaper than MSN, and Earthlink. When I realized that dialup was ridiculous to keep when an upgrade to Zoomtown was an additional 5 or 10 bucks a month, I switched.

Over the years, my bills have gone up. A buck here or there, but last month CB decided to start charging me for MY modem. I have had the thing for close to 5 years, but I still have the receipt when I received it. I called their 866 number and the rude lady told me that the equipment charge was regardless of whether I owned my modem or not, since they were raising my internet costs, regardless.

The kick in the pants is that I recently contacted their technical help line because my internet connection kept cutting out. They never returned my call until a couple weeks later when the connection wasn't down.

I get what I paid for, and I'm looking to switch all of my services currently provided by CB because they suck, but finding a replacement provider that doesn't have *'s throughout its "deals" is a headache. I don't want to be stuck with Cincy Bell headache 2.0 come 12 or 24 months.
