Cincinnati Bell lies

Supposedly you can logon 24/7 to see your bill from Cincinnati Bell, but I just tried without success.
I wanted to see why my bill went up a few bucks from last month's bill that was up a few bucks from previous bills. I have been with Cincy Bell a long time due to their being the only company back in the day to offer reasonable no contract wireless plans. I eventually switched the homephone and the dial up internet when I realized SBC Ameritech didn't give me the same basic features as Cincy Bell, while Fuse dial up was cheaper than MSN, and Earthlink. When I realized that dialup was ridiculous to keep when an upgrade to Zoomtown was an additional 5 or 10 bucks a month, I switched.

Over the years, my bills have gone up. A buck here or there, but last month CB decided to start charging me for MY modem. I have had the thing for close to 5 years, but I still have the receipt when I received it. I called their 866 number and the rude lady told me that the equipment charge was regardless of whether I owned my modem or not, since they were raising my internet costs, regardless.

The kick in the pants is that I recently contacted their technical help line because my internet connection kept cutting out. They never returned my call until a couple weeks later when the connection wasn't down.

I get what I paid for, and I'm looking to switch all of my services currently provided by CB because they suck, but finding a replacement provider that doesn't have *'s throughout its "deals" is a headache. I don't want to be stuck with Cincy Bell headache 2.0 come 12 or 24 months.
