Discover Card

Probably seems like I call customer service a lot, but I manage finances and everything seems to be more layered when you pay for things.

I use Discover Card for whatever is the 5% bonus for the quarter. We used up all the bonus potential for PayPal, so I really haven't used it much in September.

I have minimum payment setup for withdrawal, but I always pay in full as soon as I get the statement. I use the cashback bonus towards payment, which requires a manual procedure. Anyways, the amount other than cashback didn't get paid, so I had to call customer service. They credited me the interest I was charged.

I didn't have to cancel my card, but I mention I can and will.

I hate PayPal. I could write many complaints bout PayPal. If PayPal didn't have 5% cashback deals with Chase and Discover, I would NEVER use PayPal, aside from transferring cash earned from Ibotta.

HBOMAX customer service

So, I upgraded HBOMax for a whole year had an offer for $109.99. Originally, the deal was a $7.49 a month for 6 months, then after 6 months I would be billed $14.99. The unspoken caveat as to why $109.99 a year is better than $7.49 a month for 6 months is I have American Express.

AmEx has a deal if you spend $99 on HBOMax, you get $25 back. $109.99-$25= $84.99

$84.99/12= $7.09

OF course, I did the upgrade wrong and had to call customer service.

The customer service number is really hard to find if you don't know where to look... It's not on their website or within the app, but it is found on your credit card transactions. If you want to talk to a person about your HBOMAX account call: 1.855.942.6669

I had a weird feedback problem when I talked to Tina. Everything I said would be repeated in my ear 3 seconds after I said something. The problem was resolved, and I am mostly happy.

End of XP support

Well, the day has come that I will cease to use a certain machine for blogging. Not sure what will replace it, but a tablet will probably be what it will be given my annoyance with MICROSOFT. Seeing that my internet has been slow and Cincinnati Bell has been no help, I am looking into new connectivity options as well.

Just as I'm in a good place with my contact with the outside world, I'm being forced to be reclusive at my peak times of social productivity. Meh. Guess it must be a sign that I should be prioritizing other matters, like my beautiful 3 month old daughter.

Maybe I need to start being more physically active and eating better until I have the means to fully embrace mindless elements of my various interests?

... events that lead to no early nap, a continuation regarding Monday.

So I come back from the dentist a little tired, but alert enough to now going back to sleep when J, B, and D were up wasn't a grand idea. J had been talking about a Target coupon in the Sunday paper that gave the user a $20 giftcard when purchasing over $100 of baby care items. In the same Target circular, there was a promotion of a $5 giftcard when purchasing 2 big packs of Target Up & Up diapers that sold for $16.99 each.

We bought 6 boxes (4 size 1 - 112 ct, and 2 size 2 - 96 ct), so for $101.94, we got 640 diapers and $35 in gift cards to average $.104 a diaper!

While at Target we saw some clearance items. We bought a slider pan that was marked down to $15 and made tasty mini burgers for dinner. B loved the burger so much she had two, which made me feel good considering she got off the bus saying, "PIZZA PIZZA!!" referencing that Little Caesars was waiting for them the previous Monday when they got off the bus.

Another item that occurred during the day was my actual seeing my bill from Cincy Bell. In addition to the bogus $1.99 equipment charge for using my modem to access "zoomtown," my base wireless plan went up a couple bucks. When I was looking at the items on the bill, I noticed my "bundle" discount wasn't listed. I haven't received a hardcopy bill in so long that I hadn't noticed it missing. I just stopped scanning the bill when I came across the abnormality of one of the three services increasing by $2. The details are in the collapsible +/- fields so I never made it down to the +/- that housed my bundle discount credit.

I contacted CB about whether my services were bundled or not (Logically speaking, I'm owed $ if they are, or I can drop stuff without penalty if I'm not, right?) The response I got today was incomprehensible. Whoever responded to my inquiry must not have strong reading skills because nothing I asked was remotely answered while lies about CB sending notification about their service changes were regurgitated. They sent a notice today that I ordered something when I didn't! I have no idea what they claim I ordered, but it was confirmed later today. So I am very frustrated with Cincinnati Bell. I sent a reply stating such and that they either answer my question or give me the direct number of someone who speaks English as his/her primary language.

Garmin 1350T, pt II

Same reply to my email regarding warranty drove me to calling their 800 number. Was on hold a while before speaking with Sun. He was nice. He verified  my part existed and put an order for a new one. We will get it in 7-10 days after they receive our defective cord. They sent us a a UPS label via email, so we shall see...
