Remember the $115 question? Well, I took the plunge and ordered magicJack via Amazon to use $60 of the giftcard. Also bought a new coffee maker since my current one seems to take forever to make a pot. They both arrived via UPS around 1pm, but I was feeding D. I got around to magicJack around 2pm, I'm porting my current number so I had a fear that those idiots at Cincy Bell would cancel my internet along with my home phone once they got the request, so I called the idiots. I'm insulting idiots, but this is a clean blog that needs not to be vulgar.
Frankly, I am proud of myself for not utilizing profanities during my hour plus on the phone with Cincinnati Bell. While I was on hold, I tweeted them and replied to an email regarding my displeasure with the lack of customer service reps able to grasp the English language.
I had massive headache. Wonder where time goes for I go from breakfast table and to my day and forget time passes. It slowed while I was on hold.
Hmmm... B's dream hasn't transpired.
No idea when I'll get around to my new Mr. Coffee. Just know today is not the day.

$2.15
So K has a letter in his bag sent home from the school cafeteria stating he owes money, though I know he wouldn't eat anything there. It's a pittance, so I don't care to argue. K had a fit when I gave him money this morning. I think it was more about being late for his spot in line for the bus than his letter from school.
J was home yesterday. She is off Friday for the kids' last day of school. She worked Sunday, and she is representing her work Saturday. Weird timing, but she's able to do her own schedule now. We ran errands between downpours. Felt bad at Aldi as the older gentleman in front of me in checkout had to return $20 worth of stuff for he was short. He only had EBT and a wad of cash. EBT had $32 on it and his wad of cash was less than $62, evidently. He apologized to me because the ordeal added 5-10 minutes to my shopping trip. I wish I had cash to have given him, but I imagine that would have made him feel worse.
Rain yesterday meant work was dead. I had three days off and didn't feel like staying the whole 5 hours I'm allotted. Tonight is gonna be horrid because I got pit duty.
Got the new phones from Walmart, and we're doing the Family Mobile plan that'sunder $40/ line for unlimited calls, texts, and web searching. I hate Walmart, but their service is actually T-Mobile. I hate Walmart for the lack of employees capable of doing customer service. Just because the item is said to be available instore, doesn't mean it is. Ordering for instore pickup of Internet purchases is easy but actual pickup takes roughly 30 minutes to check out since they don't staff the Walmart.com counter. The "T-Mobile" tech support is probably in India. They are helpful, unlike their website https://www.myfamilymobile.com/.

Wednesday that isn't like normal
I worked Monday to get that pay difference and now I feel like it's Tuesday. Things to do and my body isn't in the mood. The whole phone search has lead me to think a certain Android may be best option for my CB needs, but having a conversation with someone who dislikes said phone because it's Android is typical of the endeavor to upgrade past the CB barriers.
I just tried to read Time online. It gave me a headache. Maybe it's not meant to be read on a laptop(LT)? Anyways, the article(IC) was derivative of everything I just read in TLAF, which I felt was derivative of all things I read of late(ATIROL)... anyways(AW) I didn't have the will to finish a couple paragraphs of said Time IC. I felt like I wasted my time on Time, so I questioned my trusting the source by which my interest was piqued.
Total FB fail.
I need to get myself organizized(MOZD). Phones and cars are the white noise of distraction(WND)... I so dislike shopping for upgrades, but contentment BE DAMNED(BD)!
Words bored me. I am going to make new ones or abbreviate old ones to fit my idiosyncrasies(MI) better. I'll use the label Dylan Speak(DYLS) to highlight this occurrence for future reference(FR).

April, Where did you go?
First of April was when I figured I needed to follow up a seemingly discontinued conversation from mid-March. My wrists and hands were feeling fine, I just hadn't had a reply. It was like my letter writing days of old, where I'd be waiting for each day's mail delivery for a reply, only to be disappointed when nothing came that day.
Snail Mail meant one chance a day, six days a week, while email could be anytime or any moment or whenever.
The 24/7 effect is like time standing still, if you are expecting something that is beyond your control.
The anxieties of today are acerbated by the expectation of change at a moment's notice.
Patience is gone and is replaced by frustration.
Being connected is a hindrance to progress towards things within one's control.
Does time management exist for a person with an obsessive personality like mine?
The mind cannot do two things at once, and multitasking is a delusion according academic studies at places like Stanford.
Anyways, to my surprise, I got a reply that first day of April to the effect that I was the guilty party. I am bothered for how did I never get an email? Perhaps my sent email never get read, somehow?
If someone is reading my email and deleting stuff, I'd know since my email is copied via various forwarding processes that leaves a trace that only I and the NSA know it leaves.
I'm just gonna let the thought pass, and move forward. It is May, after all!

Death of a blog?
April 8th is coming.
Well, Windows XP will cease to have support from Microsoft in THREE WEEKS, which means that my PC, HAL II, will either need to be tossed, upgraded, converted, or taken offline.
I'm leaning towards the last option. I am an internet junky and could use the break from the distractions of being online 24/7 due to broadband.
Since I have other options to get my online fix via my son's laptop and the family tablet, I am not about to conform to what ever is the MS CEO's expectations with regard to my XP PC.
HAL Sr. was Windows 98 and died sometime after HAL II's arrival. In the end, I only loved HAL for his Rat Poker that I never found elsewhere. I just realized that my pinky healed!
HAL II is getting to be rather slow. I get plugin fails all the time I have multiple tabs open. I moved everything file-wise off of the hard drive on to an external drive just in case HAL II decided to die like he almost did when I was doing the Search Engine Evaluating for Leapforce. He hasn't been the same since January 2012.
I'd been thinking about building a a new PC back when I came across a book at Half Price Books, but the process wasn't free, so I put the matter on hold.
I don't want a new 'puter, for I really only use it for Internet and budget analysis. So I shall probably just take out my wi-fi adapter and use HAL II as a wordprocessor that can do spreadsheets. I have a few programs on HAL II that could be utilized since I'll have all the free time.
One day I imagine J and I will get smart phones, so I'll be able to Tweet and such then, but until then I'll probably go cold turkey.
Meanwhile, I won't be following sports or hunting for non-existent jobs as much.
I may become a better father in the process.
I definitely will be less confused by how asinine one of my senator's endeavors are. Dude tweets stuff he's supporting in the senate, and I find he must think he's pandering to idiots when I read the details. First he was about raising minimum wage while ignoring his own state's minimum wage is higher than that he was slamming, thus making a dubious argument that doesn't represent his actual constitutes. Now he wants to expand EITC to include more adults without children, saying it helps children.
Being trained to be a librarian is a mixed bag. Jobs are few and far between (and don't pay great considering the master's degree needed), while I have research and critical thinking skills that allow me to pursue details of stories beyond the candy coating fluff and get to the poison core to avoid the pitfall of utter surprise when the excrement hits the air conditioning.

toilets, sinks, floors, and other things
Today's my anniversary at work, so naturally it was one of those annoying nights that everything is out of sorts.
The store had a remodel start in the early part of summer. Every so often strange guys would be there tearing up stuff. Never anything for more than a few days in a row, and not always weeks in a row. Different crews sporadically did things to the walls, floor, wiring, cameras, and blowers.
In late summer, the new building was starting to be built. Took a while to tear down the old building and the new building was just a shell until I got back from paternity leave. Now the main building has had its office space gutted.
Today we didn't have a toilet. It's just a weird transition all around, and it has got me thinking negative thoughts. I know that things will be fine and honky dory, eventually, but there's been not many moments of sameness. Between the personnel turnover and the building transformation, I feel like I've been there much longer than a year.
This is actually my third job where I've endured drastic change. Target didn't have freezers when I started back in the day. My old office at the hospital got turned into HR when we moved locations.
All things will pass, just wish I didn't notice it so much.
