Mike Lupica wrote the other day that President Obama is doomed to lose re-election because the country that elected him four years ago is now too racist to be open minded to his sort of change.
The logic doesn't make sense. The '08 campaign was against an unpopular lame duck president.
How is Obama different than Bush? Essentially the same things are going on, right?
Bush had healthcare reform efforts that weren't "conservative."
Partisanship has made everything seem to be oversimplified as R vs D issues rather than looking at the problems and searching for evidence-based solutions that work within the confines of the Constitution which protects the liberties of citizens.
Wanting something doesn't mean the desired outcome is rationally possible. Life doesn't exist in a vacuum, so theories need to be tested before being fully implemented.
If you view everything in terms of SWOT, then the priorities shape up. The past is done, move on and fix what is broken or throw it away.
