The impeachment was going on, so China wasn't really getting much news. Trump said something about imposing travel restrictions only to be said to be overreacting or trying to divert attention from his impeachment.
Today, a national emergency was declared.
I don't recall one ever being made. I know schools have never been closed for 3 weeks in my lifetime, but here my kids have 4 weeks instead of 1 week of spring break.
The widespread panic seems like 9/11 and Y2K combined.
SARS scare was bad, but it was quickly mocked by South Park.
Swine Flu was a big deal in 2009. I remember talking with a guy who had had it and thinking he was lying because he said wasn't bad and he recovered like having normal flu. I barely remember much when I got it but I know my daughter and I were both got sick with it. We never got tested, we just had symptoms such as:
- Fever
- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Congestion
- Mild headache
- Sneezing
- Fatigue
- Nose stuffiness
- Watery, red eyes
- Headache
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Body aches
Should be interesting.
