Meh, I voted today.
Eight years have passed since the Senate was last a Republican majority. I had my last real job then. I was laid off after the '06 elections, just in time for Thanksgiving. That was before the recession started, so I had hope for a new job.
Not sure what transpired for the coincidental economic upheaval with the Congress changing parties, but they seemed gleeful at the misery that could be blamed on a lame duck president.
Bush didn't have the variety of scandals plaguing his administration like Obama does. Valerie Plume and Attorney General Gonzales firing prosecutors were a lot about nothing when considering Plume was not leaked out of malice, while the latter is standard administration shake up that was delayed due to the '00 election being a mess.
Was Katrina handled poorly? People refused to take action on the state level.
The Gulf War was not a quick undertaking, and most of the premise was validated years after the fact. Both of Obama's Sec. of States voted in support of the invasion, thus a de facto approval by Obama can be inferred by trusting their opinion in such a role.
History is a perspective thing, I guess.
