Called the help number for the Allen + Roth lamp and waited a while to get a person. The person was polite enough to tell me that Allen + Roth is a China based factory and they do not have parts stateside at the call center. The customer service rep suggested I return th elamp to Lowe's for a different lamp since they don't carry parts for my Allen + Roth.
Given my warranty was up last week, I was tempted to buy another lamp and box up the old and return with new receipt. Given the bad karma, I decided to try a poor man's fix to my problem of the stripped knob screw. I didn't have any Teflon tape but I figured using Glad Press And Seal like Teflon tape would allow for the screw to adhere to the natural grooves and return function to the switch. Sure enough it worked.
Still bothered that Lowe's sold something their call center said I shouldn't buy.
