Today was "Earth Day." A day that used to mean something when I was in elementary school but now means nothing but lip service to good intentions that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. One thing that I learned in high school is that you cannot create new matter and that all things are derived from matter. It's why alchemy is a fool's science and thus why I feel any pretense to alter behavour to prevent global warming or climate change is misguided when you consider the core of the Earth is beyond my comprehension of hot that still pales in radiant heat given off by the Sun. We've had "Ice Ages" that existed long before recorded history, so the temperature change since the Industrial Revolution can be seen as entropy more so than man-made climate change. I am a cynic in that I find the argument impossible to win either way since too much effort would be needed to "prevail" for the sake of the environment, which in turn would be destroying the planet in the process of trying to save it, thus making the logical solution: world wide "Kool-Aid time" for the greater good of the polar bears, right? I jest, but the concept of "Earth Day" seems to be the wet dream of a sadomasochist.
I say that progress dictates the climate may get warmer, thus developing crops that survive harsher elements would be wise.
