I have an after hours gig. I started last week and was told I'd probably have my key and security code next week. I can still work if I come when the business closes, but I have to leave when everyone else finishes up. It's a safe way to learn the ropes and get paid.
So I was driving tonight when my left contact lens popped out. I felt it hit my chest, but I could look for it since I was driving and it was DARK out. Fortunately, I was close to my work, so I only had to drive a mile with one eye shut.
When I pulled in, I looked at my lap and around my seat without any luck. I half thought I'd have to drive back home, so I went in to say as much when I found out I got my key and code. The guy that handed me my key saw my shriveled contact on my shirt, so I was able to stay after all.
I'm very thankful for things working out.
