"Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans." Not sure where it originated, but I recall the line from a forgettable John Lennon song I heard way too many times growing up.
Nothing is wrong with making plans, but plans have a funny way of going awry, thus making the time spent planning seem a waste.
Again, nothing is wrong with making plans. Nothing would ever be completed if plans weren't ever made. I make plans all the time, but for the most part I live by the moment. I envy people that can make the most of their time, but "envy" is a strong word. Envy and hate are in the same family of misery. Misery breeds from negative thoughts. Nothing generates negative thoughts like the irrational need to hate. Nothing will make you lose sleep like hate and envy do for they take a certain amount of energy to maintain.
There are 6 billion or so people in the world. If someone annoys you then there are plenty of people to meet to take that person's place in your life. Wasting time thinking about someone you don't like much allows for that person to live in your head rent free. Move on, for there's plenty of things that you can do in this life to be happy for free will exists. Life's too short to get angry over nothing, let along people.
