Tiling is easier than scraping. Laid all the visible whole tiles on Saturday. Got to the point that I'm cutting tiles yesterday, but slowed up by stiff back and other sore spots(a box of tile weighs at least 50lbs). Weird cuts galore for where the cabinets interact with the oven and refrigerator. Not sure about the dishwasher, but it has an adjustable base shield that doesn't line up exactly with an uncut edge.
Simply put, I'm working towards walls and doing bigger piece cuts first. If I have small piece cuts that are against a wall, I go to next large set of pieces. When I have more small pieces from the larger cuts to choose, the less whole tiles I will use.
The fridge being connected to the water line is a pain since I can't shut off the spigot and the hose gives little room to maneuver. I made a few cuts and could lay most of the tile for the fridge, but I'm waiting until all the cuts are done to make sure things fit. Weird space with large cuts and little margin of error for shifting tiles.
Of course, I will need to get baseboard/quarter round to clean up the edges, but I'm not to grouting yet.
Doing a kitchen floor by myself is not fun, but it will be worth it once I'm done. J has been there for moral support and to distract K and B. K and B have been fighting ever since K's summer break started Friday.
Looks to be a long summer.
