For the greater good

Google/Cisco/Apple and other major corporations do all that they can to avoid paying excessive taxes and to produce greater profits for their shareholders. People are arguing that these companies need to pay their fair share and pay corporate taxes without shenanigans.
Why stop there? Why doesn't the government simply take over the companies for the greater good of the American people and relocate all the factories to the States and keep all of the profits here in addition to the tax revenue?
Why should they even have profits? Everyone should have the right to a free iPhone, right?
Look at Airbus. They were partially owned by European governments and they made horrible business decisions.
