First off, EVERYTHING IS MORE EXPENSIVE of late. If you are not using apps like Ibotta to save money, why not?
It's weird to think we're heading for a recession, but with everything being so expensive, disposable income is cramping up.
I worked at car wash for few years during the Obama days. Car wash was very profitable. I got a different job with FedEx just prior to the Trump era. FedEx is very expensive to use for shipping, yet FedEx did well during the whole time I worked there.
The pandemic made a quasi economic downturn with businesses being forced to shutdown for public health reasons.
HUGE handouts to everyone gave the very fortunate extra cash while allowing the unfortunate stay afloat while they were idled.
With everyone back to work, a sense of gloom is emerging. Life was stressful because of the COVID, but we survived the COVID. Now we have to re-adjust to this quasi-post-covid era. COVID will return, probably, yet we're back to work and not at home collecting $ for nothing.
Wages haven't kept up with inflation, so there's deeper sense of gloom.
The above is my opinion, but articles are saying recession is coming.
