a lazy day of infinite meh

Staycations aren't cool. Done with my major project, I moved onto doing taxes I avoid doing due to never having a reason to do them until they are due.
City taxes are weird. They are taken from paychecks if you live in the city but townships and other cities don't take out your city taxes. We pay quarterly estimates. Wife no longer works in a township, so we ended up over paying by more than the amount we probably owe for all of 2020 and then some.
Could ask for a refund, but it's more trouble than it's worth when it's just as well have it pay towards 2020.
Mathematically speaking, 2020 will be the year we became credit card debt-free. We have a balance that will be paid off next month that has been shuffled from card to card for maybe 20 years.
I say "maybe" because the debt pre-dates my meeting my wife. She had odd-ball debts that I thought were paid off when we merged our accounts. She kept one card balance secret and then we had no jobs between us, then life happened...
We were never late on payments. Just shuffled the debt from one card to another. Usually a 0% rate was offered for an extended amount of time which would be long enough for another such offer to come in the mail to reset the cycle. I would not recommend my strategy for managing debt, for it takes a lot of restraint. Discover card seems to think my FICO score is 839 of late.

My TSP, 401(K) and IRA got ugly in February and remain ugly, but I know they'll bounce back before I need them. Given the debts being paid off, I will have a lot of money I don't need to spend coming in, so what to do with it will be a fun problem to have.
