RIP Holly Woodlawn

Any fan of Lou Reed knows the name "Holly" and instantly thinks of hitchhiking, anyways the he who shaved his legs and became a she, has died.

Odd coincidence, I finally finished Dirty Blvd. last night. Andy Warhol had this to say in the chapter of the book I just happen to have been reading but paused during my reading about Lou:

Regardless, I am struck by Holly's obituary. Pronouns are weird, but when Holly was boy, her father abandoned his mom. Gender identity seems to have a correlation to the lack of a father growing up. Is there research on the matter, I don't know. It's like lefthandedness no one truly understands it.
