Got a call about B's glasses being at the doctor's, so I took her. Slight ordeal was anticipated, so I had my mom come over and watch K and D.
Taking three kids anywhere alone is an endeavour I avoid, unless it's getting Little Caesar's.
Thought my mom would stay for tacos, but she's busy with the paperwork to settle my dad's affairs.
He's been gone two weeks. I don't exactly miss him. I can't think of the last time I had called him for no particular reason. Had to have been before he started campaigning for Obama in '08. He went door to door until he could walk no more. Irked me that he could spend all his free time campaigning for a man who said he was determined to close coal powered power plants. My dad's brother spent the last 20 years of his life working for the state to develop cleaner coal use, thus meaning my uncle's life's work was pointless.
My uncle was not a corporate shill pushing coal, but rather a scientist trying to fix a problem.
My dad was consumed by the promise of health care without caps on spending and open to those with pre-existing conditions. My dad had insurance but didn't like paying for anything, and thought prescriptions should be free, regardless how much they cost to manufacture. He also thought his doctors should be available 24/7. He'd call them at their homes and stalk them while volunteered at the hospital.
The talking points my dad would give about his beliefs were mindless and he said stuff like everyone should be forced to buy health insurance since everyone was forced to buy car insurance. I have never heard of anyone being sued because he gave someone the flu, yet his argument was filled with such nonsense of the apples and oranges variety.
It sickens me that he spent more time campaigning for a man he never met than he ever spent with his grandchildren. So much energy exerted on behalf of a pathological liar. Talking to him was unbearable until he realized he couldn't get me to support a man who supports infanticide.
