tears of uncertainty

Feet propped upon the ottoman, he contemplated his day.
As a whole, it was a dud of a day, but rainy days never seem to inspire potential.
Eating breakfast after ten is never a good sign. He ate a heavy brunch of syrup and waffles. Morning fading, he motored out on a fool's errand and returned stalled due to a drained battery.
The distant morning and the blurred afternoon make for pondering, indeed. Surely, something was accomplished but routine dictates the standard, and today he fell short of par. Between the trip out and the dead battery, fizzle flat is all he tasted.
It was a painless day. A rare occasion of late was the second in a row, actually. Sad to think a painfree day as a dud, but tomorrow is another day.
