Read an article about the UN's ICCP projection for global temperature increase by 2100 and the "stupidity" of geo-engineering concepts to counteract the greenhouse effect.
There's a model or two regarding plankton. One idea is about sending a reflecting mirror into space.
None of the ideas mocked mentioned garden hoses towards the stratosphere or so pumping clouding materials that would cool the earth much like the ash cloud from a volcanic eruption (the scenario is explained better in the squeal to Freakonomics, Superfreakonomic).
As far as I'm concerned, 2100 is a far distant time from now and blaming carbon fuels for the climate change is interesting when I recall there was a time carbon fuels were expected to be completely depleted sooner than later when I was growing up in the 80s. I'm also quite aware of the supposed polar magnetic shift and of the super volcano that is Yellowstone National Park.
All of the above three scenarios voids my concerns regarding man made global warming. Overpopulation fears are as vogue as they were twenty years ago, as they were twenty years prior to then (there's a 20 year fear cycle that each generation much experience, I guess).
The world's population is 7,149,500,000-ish.The below table doesn't project into 2100, but the population practically tripled in the last 65 years. Humanity gives off CO2 as a byproduct, which gets overshadowed by the evil consumption of fossil fuels by power plants and automobiles. Surely a world event will occur causing chaos like the 1918 Spanish Flu or the typhus epidemic that wiped out the likes of Annabel, if not another stupid world war(I'm looking at you China with your disproportionate male to female population).
Then there's always the possibility other calamities like an asteroid or Gamera coming from beyond space to destroy all that is known.
