What Windows XP's 'end of life' means to me

I live under a rock and have been using my Windows XP PC happily since 2006. Just read that the date has been set for HAL Jr. to go offline: 04/08/2014

I remember HAL Sr., he was slow and all but he had Rat Poker which kept me company throughout the lonely parts of grad school. HAL Sr. is 'puter heaven, which I hope isn't a landfill.
