I have a 20th century mentality. I really don't care for all the "advances" being made in technology. Social media has made everything become "hot" fast only to be replaced by something "newer, thus better."
I was listening to Clark Howard the other week and he was talking to a producer or call screener that had a Nintendo Wii she no longer used and wanted to sell but only got offered $15.
I'm assuming that only someone who got a Wii U would find reason to sell their Wii for it completely replaces any need for a regular Wii.
Sure we have a Wii and use it sparingly now that we have Roku 3 to stream Netflix (in HD, mind you), but The fact that the system was probably around the price of Wii U when we got it, is depressing.
Same could be said for the PS2. We have 2 for some reason. We didn't have a DVD player for a long time and got the second when the original ceased to play DVDs without skipping. The second one was much smaller and cheaper, but didn't function as a DVD player as well as the first. We bought a Curtis DVD player from HH Gregg for $9.99 that broke after a year and was replaced by another $9.99 Curtis that broke within a year. When the second died, we got a Sony for a price that was a little more than a Curtis without the rebate. Rationale was libraries don't carry Blu-ray, but in hindsight Netflix and Roku 3 makes the decision seem more than sensible.
There's just going to be something new that makes everything seem outdated sooner than later, so I am fine living under a rock, being content with what I got: Netflix and Roku 3.
