I think we had a frost last night. Where does time go? Seems like we were in a heat wave/drought only to have fall hit with full force.
Regardless, it's the best time of year to turn the power off and work on electrical matters.
I have downtime, and I feel more motivated of late to get things accomplished around the house.
I replaced outlets and switches when we moved into the house, but there had been a combo switch/outlet that I never figured out how to wire correctly since the back of original wiring device looks.nothing like its replacement's back and the direction with the device didn't cover the wire/cable configuration in my switch/outlet box. To complicate matters, the original outlet didn't work when we moved in, and the light fixture that switch operated was broken.
The Black and Decker book I have on home wiring has been or no help on the matter, and I haven't been able to find what I want through Google either.
Amazing how I did all of the rewiring 8 years ago, but find myself puzzled now even with the emergence of DIY clips on Youtube!
I'm sure I'll stumble upon an answer sooner than later. Internet research is my thing, and there's more to search than there used to be.
I remember it took me a day or two to figure out how to put the drum back on my dryer the first time, just like how it took me a few hours to replace a headlight.
I do things methodically since I try not rush myself into a mistake. I rather do something right the first time than doing it twice. Perfection isn't necessary, but having high expectations makes for better results.
