First day on the job

So I got an adjunct teaching gig. Paperwork galore is what I did today. Watched a few slide shows and got my textbooks.

Not sure what I will be teaching yet, but I know the day of the week and I can teach two different classes. Gotta get a sitter, and I think we have a good one lined up. Never know until things come to fruition.

Takes a job to get a job. Never had my own class, but I've taught enough to have a feel for what I'm to expect.

It would be nice to be self-reliant, but there are so many variables that can change without reason. I have a plan a, b, and quite a few more. I am doing a full-court press. I'm looking outside the box and working within it. Keeping in touch with my references and contacts, for being active is what it takes to get a job. Government checks are nice as a fall-back, but they set the bar low and stretches of unemployment do not look good on a resume. Gotta be flexible, open-minded, patient, determined, resilient, and observant of patterns.

Hopefully, Amazon gets targeted and sales taxes are recouped to take the burden off state budgets to allow for the hiring of more librarians. Amazon must hate libraries for they are pushing their Kindles thus destroy the need to house dusty books and in addition to their refusal to collect taxes that support public entities such as libraries.
