Don't recall the last time I was in a regular bookstore, but I always get interested in books I see at Half Price Books.
Things that caught my eye were about building the perfect pc, corporate blogging, and a retort to Freakonomics, so I naturally put them all on hold and subsequently checked them out from the library.
Reading three books at a time is nothing unusual for a person with a degree in English, but I also have been reading other things as well that aren't page turners. I'm not ready to build a PC, so I'm at an impasse there. Economics is painfully dull but almost as dull as corporate blogging philosophy.
As a librarian, I have a wide variety of interests. Economics effect every aspect of daily life, so having insight into the fundamentals is key to making better fiscal decisions. Having a better understanding of PC configurations makes one better suited to troubleshoot a misbehaving machine. Librarian gigs are few and far between, but libraries are wading into blogging to promote their services.
Doubt I'll finish any of the three aside from Freedomnomics, since it seems to have the most narrative structure. Might buy the other two if I ever have the fund to purchase/build a PC or get more keen into blogging with purpose. I tend to only buy books that serve for reference.
