art

I also know little about art. I worked in an art library and took beginning drawing my first quarter at OSU. People might have thought I was a wannabe artist. Though I was valedictorian of my graduating class, I technically didn't graduate high school and had to take an art class my first quarter to be accepted to OSU. My instructor thought well of me and tried to get me to follow my brother's path, so I could have pursued it if it interested me, but I had no desire.

Another person who had the same art instructor I had at OSU became a friend of mine through a series of coincidence. She makes art. I think her work has been decorating the current TOH, here's her raccoon from the magazine:

mild contemplations

Surgery, thought of it gives me pause. I don't want take off work to do it. I went to work when I woke up 99.7% certain I would call off Wednesday. Felt lousy but it was tolerable since I could take my time and no one was around to see me scurry to the restroom every ten to twenty minutes. Woke up Thursday feeling wonderful, aside from a pimple in my nose making it feel puffy. If a pimple is my big annoyance of the day after feeling like... then I'll take it. Weird to feel not hateful on a Thursday morning... I had four hours of sleep as opposed to three, makes a bit of a difference.
AW, phone rang this morning a few times, so yes, we're back with Cincy Bell with OUR number that magicJack FAILED to port timely. The first call was Improvit wanted business since we were fool enough to have them do our bathroom last August. second call was my hand surgeon's office calling about the referral for my CTS, scheduler made mid-Sept seem distant in the future. Love that office! Third call was my brother. I'm not looking forward to seeing him next week, but the stars aligned that I can venture with family eastward and such while he's in this great state of ours. Yes... art shindig in Cowtown ruins MY weekend, but I'm not gonna do the art, I'll Journey to see my mom since she guilted me with unsolicited check with note saying she hadn't seen kiddos in a while. My brother will head there after a lecture at CCAD by his bud Pagel. I say such about being tight in jest but they probably do ride bikes together. AW the call with my brother drew question as to where my dad will be, he made it sound like he was going to a HOME. Hadn't reached my mom in days so THAT wasn't expected news.
Oh, I see a different surgeon next week, so I shall see if that'll be worthwhile.

loose ends, tying a noose

Nearly fell yesterday but miraculously caught a bar like I had stopped time. Seriously defied gravity for I lack cat-like reflexes.

I am thankful for not hurting myself. I am feeling as though the annoying elements of randomness are becoming less frequent and replaced by pleasant randomness or at least reminders of lost thoughts.

Was trying to think of an artist's name the other day. I could picture him and his work and how he died, but his name eluded me. I wasn't going to try to pursue the name since I never cared for his work, but rather was reminded of his work due to touching base with an acquaintance who borrowed heavily from the primitive cartoon sketchy style in his art. I imagine that he knows he's a Keith Haring hack, but it's odd that Keith Haring's hack Foundation made the news by being sued for being jerky, hence I'm saying Keith Haring rather than that guy that died whose art sucked.

Speaking of art, I didn't realized Jeff Koons was alive until seeing his name mentioned as doing stuff of late. I remember seeing his name then I forget only to see it again and to forget. He's done a few things of late where I've seen his name mentioned with a tacky celebrity faux art tie-in.  I don't remember much of his other work beyond the Made in Heaven stuff, but that said begs the question why is he back in the news?

Inferno, Dan Brown's latest installment of Robert Langdon

Just finished reading the newest installment of the Robert Langdon saga. Dan Brown enjoys jerking the rug out from you too much. I am not sure if his books are more believable than those within the 39 Clues/Cahills v. Vespers  canon.
Not exactly sure why I bother reading Brown's books since I find everything about them rather impossible to read.
I mean, Prof. Langdon is a "genius," but yet he manages to do very stupid, naive things, regularly. At least the Cahill kids are KIDS, thus too young to be truly cynical
Anyways, I guess I read them for the same reasons I read Block, for I find myself thinking the same thing... WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID! They're good to make you think... all you have to do is turn pages unlike a Sudoku puzzle that requires you to correctly place numbers within a grid.
Regardless, it's not a bad book in the grand scheme of things. I generally like stuff relating to Medieval times and this has tons. Not a big art history fan, but that's different matter for another day.
My brain hurts.

Spoiler: Sienna Brooks is FS-2080, also known as Bertrand Zobrist's LOVER! When you read chapter 66, you are set up to think that the provost spoke with FS-2080 in chapter 65 since he seemingly contacts FS-2080 but rather he contacts an actor known as Dr. Ferris who previously played the role of the Italian Dr. Marconi. Yes, I said ACTOR! The Consortium is a lot like the group that was depicted in the David Fincher's 1997 film: The Game, starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. They seem to kill people and such but they don't. They are masters of illusion to create alibis and such. This actor has been working with Sienna from the very beginning, and the provost finds his mentioning of the plague discussion as troublesome given the 9 minute video left to be given to the media the following day. By the way, Sienna Brooks is the only murderer in the book! The "plague" that is being tracked down has already been released and doesn't kill people, just makes 1/3 of those in contact with it sterile thus creating a means to control the population with out making mounds of condoms in Africa. In conclusion: If you got excited by the butt sex depicted in Chapter 66, then you were mistaken. Bertrand Zobrist is not gay. If you felt great when the assassin Vayentha died, then you are a sick person.
