Being 11 games above .500, yet only playing mostly bad teams

The parity in MLB right now is weird. Too many teams seem to utterly suck. 6 teams are on pace to lose 100+ games, which explains 6 teams on pace to win 100+ games. An additional 4 teams are on pace to lose 90+ games, while 6 another teams are on pace to win 90+ games. 30-(12+10)=8 teams are in the .500 range. The Pirates currently have a 19-8 record, but have yet to play a team on pace to win 90+ games.

It's hard to be excited about the winning record when it's against teams that are mediocre at best.
